We couldn't reproduce this on our installation.

Usually demo import issues are related to weak resources and you can see our recommendations regarding those in this article - Recommended PHP Versions And Resources And How To Set Them. Also, it is important that "Import Attachments" options is set to "Yes" for images to import (please see screenshot).

You can try to repeat import via XML import for missing media to get imported. Before that we recommend navigating to Appearance > Menus and deleting menus so they don't get duplicated during repeated import process.
